Wanderlust Tunes For Your Travel Playlist
A song truely representing personal growth and discovering life's lessons the tough way. A true traveler's anthem.
'I was born to try, I've learned to love. Be understanding and believe in life. But you've got to make choices, Be wrong or right. Sometimes you've got to sacrifice the things you like'
One to kick start those adventurous vibes! Get pumped up for your next hike, beer pong championship, cliff dive, WHATEVER, go get crazy!
Self discovery takes time and no one can tell you how much time you will need. Everybody learns and grows in their own way. Life brings us all up differently.
'In my own time I'll take a chance. In my own time I'll find romance. In my own time. It'll be mine. After the clouds there'll be the rain. After the sun there'll be the moon it doesn't matter. 'cause it'll be in my own time'
This one is much deeper than any other on this playlist. It may not be for everyone, but this is my one true travel song, sitting at the top of my travel playlist every time. It grounds me. Centres me on the positive and all that I am grateful for. The video that goes along with this is just as inspiring as the words sung. Take a look and try and take a moment to be humble for all you were blessed with today.
'I am a miracle made up of particles. And in this existence, I’ll stay persistent. And I’ll make a difference. And I will have lived it. Aloha, Aloha Ke Akua, Ke Akua'
Again, this is not for everyone. But it is another song which truely grounds me and allows me to focus. 'Om Mani Padme Hum' being an ancient Tibetan mantra, encompassing all of Buddhas teachings. A beautiful piece of music there is a long and short version (depending on how much you like it). There are many versions of this chant, this being my favourite.
Hell yeah! We've all been down in the dumps, asking why are we doing this? How did i get here? Smash through those walls and sing this song til your lungs give out!
'My power's turned on. Starting right now I'll be strong. I'll play my fight song. And I don't really care if nobody else believes, 'Cause I've still got a lot of fight left in me'
My most recent add to my travel playlist is home grown! Mmm chilled vibes... grab a pina colada, deck chair on a beach and watch the sun set.
'Welcome to the jungle. Are you gonna dance with me? Welcome to the jungle. You got to close your eyes and see...'
The newest single from my handsome man (shh don't tell Curtis) 😉
'Only you and me tonight, following the satellites. Hitting up all the vibes, I never want to stop'
Ever been lonely drunk and wishin you were with your man on the other side of the world? no.... ok well i'm sure you can at least relate to the drunk-texting-the-ex scenario? Come on, you've been there, admit it. Well, they've created an anthem for it! Here it is!
Stick this song in one of those cards that has a battery in it and when you open it, it plays a song... and send it to your best friend as a travel invitation! hmmm i smell a new business op...
'I wanna dance by water 'neath the Mexican sky. Drink some Margaritas by a string of blue lights. Listen to the Mariachi play at midnight. Are you with me, are you with me?'
Us wanderers are a special breed. One that seems to think and see the world differently to others...
'Am I wrong for thinking out the box from where I stay? Am I wrong for saying that I choose another way? I ain't tryna do what everybody else doing. Just 'cause everybody doing what they all do. If one thing I know, I'll fall but I'll grow. I'm walking down this road of mine, this road that I call home'
Save Tonight (eigenARTig Remix)
We've all had our heartbroken by some handsome travelling mystery man...
'Well we know I'm going away, And how I wish - I wish it weren't so. So take this wine and drink with me. And let's delay our misery. Save tonight and fight the break of dawn. Come tomorrow - tomorrow I'll be gone...'
For me, this song in my travel playlist, is wanderlust stirring and a bit of a trip down memory lane.
Back story: I first heard this song in a Cambodian hostel trivia night. I met incredible people from this night and had amazing adventures! It's been a major positive viber for me ever since... the lyrics may not be directly positive but it's a strong reminder to always be kind.
